Counselling

A gentle space to explore, reflect, and heal

Life can be challenging, overwhelming, or confusing at times — and we all struggle in different ways. You might be feeling anxious, low, stuck, grieving, or simply unsure of who you are or where you’re going. Whatever has brought you here, counselling offers you a safe and supportive space to begin making sense of it all.

Counselling isn’t about being given advice or being told what to do. It’s about having someone truly listen — with compassion, without judgement — as you explore what’s going on for you. It’s your time, your space, and it’s entirely centred around you.

Everything you share is held in confidence, and you’re free to bring whatever feels important — whether that’s something clear and specific, or a general feeling that something just isn’t quite right.

There is no pressure to talk about anything before you’re ready. You’ll be met with warmth, patience, and acceptance, no matter where you are in your journey.

I work in a way that’s person-centred, which means I believe that you are the expert on your own life. My role is to walk alongside you — not to direct or diagnose, but to support you in finding your own answers, in your own time.

I also work in an integrative way, which simply means I draw on different counselling theories and approaches, depending on what suits you best. This might include elements of mindfulness, emotion-focused work, or practical strategies for managing anxiety or low mood — always adapted to meet your unique needs.

At the heart of it all is a strong, respectful relationship — built on empathy, trust, and mutual understanding.

I was extremely nervous going to my first appointment, but Lorraine made me feel comfortable straight away. I thought she would give me answers and advice, but instead I learned so much about myself, and became able to decide for myself what I really wanted to do.
